Is there a cure for anxiety and fear? The answer to this question will entirely depend on a person's psychological makeup.  Anxiety and fears are mostly triggered by your thoughts. What you think or imagine is what you become. The chances of you getting cured will be in direct relation to your mental health and your response to occurrences which trigger these symptoms. As it may sound unbelievable, but fear attacks can strike when you are on a date or even a fun place like a party. Since fear is a natural response to real or imagined threat, how people react to it varies with individuals and situations. 

In general, anxiety is a disorder that causes fear, nervousness, worry, and apprehension. In short, anxiety is a natural human response to stressful situations, but becomes a condition when it happens frequently without a trigger.  It is also defined as an emotion characterized by tension feelings and visible changes like increased blood pressure. Health professionals term anxiety as a fear of something, a place or when the fear is about something in the future rather than the present occurrences and is the most common mental conditions in the world.

How do Fear and Anxiety feel like?

In the incident of fear and anxiety occurrences, your body and mind work very quickly. These are some of the things that might occur.

  • The irregular rises in heartbeat and breathes.
  • Your muscles will feel weak
  • Your body will experience a lot of hot and cold sweats
  • Inability to concentrate on anything else

  • Your mouth gets very dry
  • You cannot feed properly
  • Stomach discomfort or your bowel will feel loose

All these symptoms occur because your body is preparing for an emergency upon sensing fear. As a result, it increases its blood flow to the muscles which in turn increases blood sugar levels. The mind is also given the ability to focus on the thing that your body terms as a threat.

How To Stop Living in Fear

The feeling of powerlessness can be brought about by fear. Dealing with fear by naming what makes you fearful and facing it head-on is one of the very first steps to your freedom.  Here is how to go about dealing with fear.

  • Label your fear to weaken it. In naming your fear you reduce its uncertainty. You label your fears either talking to someone or journaling. Clear definition of your fears makes them less scary and you can be able to develop a game plan on how to overcome them. 
  • Use of mental direction to sit with the emotions triggered by fear.

Rather than pushing away the thoughts and feelings brought by fear, accept them and mindfully observe them.
